Legal Practice Course (LPC)
Before you start your Training Contract, you'll need to take our seven month bespoke LPC at BPP in Holborn, London which has been developed with the Education Partners within the firm. As well as paying your LPC fees, we'll provide you with a maintenance grant of £7,000.
The course runs twice a year, in January and July and you will study with the intake you will be joining the Firm with. This provides you with a great opportunity to start building relationships with the people who will be your colleagues in the years to come.
The LPC is a full-time course designed to provide you with the foundations of legal practice. The additional business modules will also develop your business awareness and acumen to help equip you for a career in our firm. You will have the opportunity to convert this into a Masters level qualification during your time with the firm.
One of the key advantages of doing the LPC with us is that our practice areas have worked extensively with BPP to develop the content of the courses; you gain immediate exposure to our documentation, processes and templates before even joining the Firm.
At Clifford Chance, we want to guarantee that you have the best experience whilst studying, ensuring not only that the course and learning experience is tailored but that you get to know each other and the Graduate Development Team during the seven months prior to starting with us. We take you to a social event on day one of the LPC as well as providing your whole intake with a budget to socialise with during the course. We have a unique Clifford Chance Yammer group (a dedicated social media platform) for each intake to provide a more informal platform for you, your colleagues and the Graduate Development Team to communicate.
Our Graduate Development Team has an established relationship with the course leader at BPP to ensure that your learning experience and time at BPP feels like an extension of your Training Contract and the transition from one to the other is seamless.
You'll have many touch points with both the team and the Firm during your time at BPP. You will be invited into the Firm for a number of presentations from partners, associates and trainees in each of our practice areas to give you a real feel for what life will be like at the Firm. In addition to this you'll also have a dedicated one-to-one meeting with a member of the Graduate Development Team to discuss seats before making your first seat preferences, as well as a more informal drop in session with the team.
