Our commitment as a firm to supporting the mental health of our trainees is recognised through the prominent AGR 'Overall Development' award. This is a further accolade for our POP programme, designed to help our trainees remain resilient under pressure and combat stigma attached to mental health issues. The results speak for themselves - the scheme saw a 70% reduction in the incidences of sickness for those trainees who had been through the programme.

This award recognises the firm's proactive and preventative approach to ensuring the health and happiness of our trainees, notably the introduction of an innovative Performance Optimisation Programme (POP) to support their psychological wellbeing. The judging panel commended how this initiative helps the wider organisation to achieve its strategic goals, and POP is no doubt a contributing factor to why 96% of our trainees decided to stay with the firm after qualifying in 2014.

This award recognises our effort to be the first law firm in the country with a programme that helps develop and sustain the psychological wellbeing of trainees. As a result of introducing the Performance Optimisation Programme (POP) the firm has seen a significant reduction in the incidences of sickness for individuals who have been through POP and a reduction in Occupational Health cases related to mental health.
Clifford Chance has been named one of the top LGBT UK employers in the 2016 Stonewall Workplace Equality Index (WEI), ranking 9th out of 415.
The Stonewall WEI is the leading UK diversity benchmark. It looks at how inclusive organisations are with respect to Lesbian Gay Bi and Trans (LGBT) diversity by scoring them on a range of criteria including client engagement, policy and practice, employee engagement and LGBT community engagement.
In 2016, we were named the number one law firm in the Chambers Global Top 30 for the third year in a row, and Chambers gave us more tier 1 rankings than any other law firm. The plaudits don’t end there either. We were also named International Law Firm of the Year at the IFLR Asia Awards 2016 and the Legal Week Middle East Awards 2016.
It’s not just the quality of our work that sets us apart. We’ve also been recognised as an employer too. In particular, we have won widespread acclaim for how we develop our graduates. In 2014, we were the first law firm ever to be named Graduate Employer of the Year at the TargetJobs Awards. That year also saw The Times name us the Graduate Employer of Choice for Law.
